The WEST AFRICA WATER EXPO (WAWE) is the leading trade fair for water and wastewater technologies in Ghana. Since its inception in 2019, it has been held annually at the Accra International Conference Centre. The abbreviation WAWE refers not just to an exhibition, but to a strategic platform where experts, decision-makers, and innovators can exchange ideas on current developments in the water sector. The event is organized by Elan Expo, an international trade fair organizer with a focus on economically important events in emerging markets.
Due to its thematic depth and regional significance, WAWE has become a central meeting place for the West African water industry. Its added value lies in the combination of expertise, technology transfer, and market access. The exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of topics such as water treatment, wastewater technology, utility infrastructure, process automation, stormwater management, engineering, and sustainable resource use. It addresses specific regional challenges such as water loss, urbanization pressure, and climate change and presents practical solutions – for example, through innovative filter systems, intelligent pump technologies, and precise measurement and control systems.
National and international exhibitors from the fields of water technology, environmental technology, engineering, construction, urban planning, and public utilities present the latest products, systems, and services. The exhibition is complemented by a sophisticated supporting program with technical workshops, specialist presentations, and networking events. New technology trends are regularly presented and outstanding solutions are recognized. This combination makes WAWE particularly valuable for a broadly diverse professional audience – from engineers and authorities to developers and investors, universities and non-governmental organizations.
With its clear thematic focus, international participation, and its contribution to sustainable development, WAWE remains a central platform for all those who want to actively shape the future of water infrastructure in West Africa.
The WAWE WEST AFRICA WATER EXPO will take place on 3 days from Wednesday, 26. November to Friday, 28. November 2025 in Accra.
