WOD-KAN Bydgoszcz

The WOD-KAN Fair – named after the Polish words for water (woda) and wastewater (kanalizacja) – is one of Europe’s leading trade events for machinery, technologies, and equipment in the water and wastewater sector.

Each year, the modern Bydgoszcz Trade and Exhibition Center (Bydgoskie Centrum Targowo-Wystawiennicze, BCTW) in Bydgoszcz (Bromberg), Poland, becomes a central meeting point for international experts, manufacturers, and decision-makers in the industry. The fair is organized by the respected Polish Chamber of Waterworks (Izba Gospodarcza „Wodociągi Polskie“, IGWP), which has served for decades as both a voice and driving force behind Poland’s water sector.

WOD-KAN focuses on practical, innovative, and sustainable solutions for the water and wastewater industry. In a dynamically evolving field, it provides a platform for showcasing the latest technologies and addressing current challenges such as digitalization, cybersecurity, IoT applications, and resource and environmental protection. Initiatives like ReNutriWater, Waterman, and the presentation of Danish efficiency technologies highlight the fair’s ambition to offer concrete answers to global water management issues.

Spanning 15,000 square meters of exhibition space, companies from a range of industries – including environmental technology, mechanical engineering, construction, digitalization, and consulting – present their latest products and services. The offerings range from modern metering and reading systems to intelligent infrastructure solutions and sustainable facilities for water treatment and wastewater disposal. Around 10,000 industry professionals attend the event, including representatives from utilities, municipalities, planning offices, research institutions, and policymakers. They gain not only a comprehensive overview of market trends but also access to legal and economic expertise provided by IGWP.

A defining feature of the fair is its interactive nature. In the “New Technologies Zone,” visitors can experience forward-looking innovations firsthand. Expert lectures, seminars, and conferences further promote knowledge exchange. The exhibition experience is enhanced by highlights such as the ceremonial opening, the Grand Prix awards for outstanding innovations, evening events, and the networking event “Club Night #targinocą.”

Thus, the WOD-KAN Fair is more than just an exhibition: it is an annual industry gathering of European significance, promoting innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development in the water and wastewater sector.
