Watertech Africa is an annual trade fair dedicated to water technologies. Since its inception in 2022, it has established itself as a central platform for innovative solutions in water treatment, management, and conservation across Africa. The event takes place at the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya—an architectural landmark known for its central location and modern infrastructure.
The fair is organized by Expogroup, an internationally active trade show organizer based in the United Arab Emirates. With extensive experience in hosting professional exhibitions throughout the Middle East and Africa, Expogroup brings together experts, decision-makers, and industry leaders from around the world.
Watertech Africa focuses on the challenges and opportunities in the water sector. Key topics include current developments and forward-looking approaches in drinking water treatment, wastewater management, desalination, filtration, water storage and distribution, hydropneumatic systems, and the analysis and assurance of water quality. In addition to technical innovations, sustainable usage concepts play a major role—particularly in the context of climate change, which poses increasing challenges for Kenya and the African continent as a whole.
Exhibitors showcase a wide range of products and technologies, including filtration systems, water treatment solutions, antiscalants, reverse osmosis membranes, cooling and boiler systems, modern drinking water applications, and measurement and control technologies. The offering is complemented by solutions for recycling, hydropower, dam construction, and fluoridation. As such, the trade fair represents the entire water industry value chain—from source to end user.
Participating companies come from diverse sectors such as environmental technology, mechanical engineering, chemicals, energy, agriculture, municipal services, and construction. The audience is equally diverse, comprising technical specialists as well as representatives from science, politics, consulting, and investment—across both public and private sectors. International exchange is further encouraged by Nairobi’s accessibility and the strategic location of the KICC.
The venue itself offers ideal conditions for national and international attendees thanks to its downtown location. Combining state-of-the-art event infrastructure with cultural significance and panoramic views of the Nairobi skyline, the KICC provides a fitting setting for a future-oriented event like Watertech Africa—in the heart of East Africa.
The Watertech Africa takes place annually, and therefore for the 5th time previsibly in July 2026 in Nairobi.
