art KARLSRUHE is an international art fair held annually since 2004. It has established itself as a key platform for Classic Modern and Contemporary Art. The venue is the state-of-the-art Karlsruhe Trade Fair Center in Rheinstetten, whose spacious architecture and light-filled halls offer ideal conditions for showcasing high-quality artworks.
The event is organized by Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress GmbH (KMK), an experienced trade fair organizer with strong regional roots and international reach. The fair brings together galleries from across the globe with a diverse art audience: collectors, curators, artists, museum professionals, and critics all find a shared space for exchange and inspiration.
In terms of content, art KARLSRUHE spans around 120 years of art history – from masterpieces of Classic Modernism and post-war art to current trends in contemporary art. The wide-ranging program includes painting, sculpture, graphic art, photography, object art, installations, and works on paper. A defining feature of the fair is its generously designed sculpture zones, located both inside the halls and in the outdoor areas – a distinctive element among art fairs that allows three-dimensional works to be presented with ample space and impact.
Beyond its market focus, the fair offers a diverse supporting program featuring talks, panel discussions, and special exhibitions. Initiatives such as paper:square, academy:square, and start:block are dedicated to art education and promote dialogue between the public, artists, and experts. Formats like re:discover and curated special sections also provide a platform for emerging artistic positions – reflecting the fair’s core values of discovery, support, and exchange.
Exhibitors include galleries, art dealers, and edition publishers. Visitors come from an international community of collectors, museum representatives, art dealers, critics, and private art enthusiasts.
The fairground in Rheinstetten is easily accessible, both by car and public transport, including a direct S-Bahn connection from Karlsruhe Central Station. Its proximity to the city of Karlsruhe – a hub for culture and innovation – creates a vibrant environment that fosters high-level artistic exchange.
art KARLSRUHE uniquely combines the art market, education, and cultural encounter. It is far more than a traditional art fair – it is an annual highlight of the international art scene and an inspiring space for all who seek to experience, understand, and engage with art.
The first day of the trade fair is usually reserved for trade visitors and journalists. The art KARLSRUHE will take place on 4 days from Thursday, 05. February to Sunday, 08. February 2026 in Rheinstetten.
