Launched as part of the series of the internationally renowned ‘Fastener Fair’ brand, the first edition of Fastener Fair Mexico, Exhibition for Fastener and Fixing Technology, proved itself to be a big success. Following the good feedback from both exhibitors and visitors, exhibition organisers, Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd have confirmed the second edition which will be held in March 2016.

From 12-13th March 2014 a total of 2,461 fastener professionals gathered at the Centro Banamex in Mexico City to network and trade. Purchasing specialists and distributors praised the event as a valuable platform to source a comprehensive range of industrial fasteners, construction fixings, assembly and installation systems as well as manufacturing technology. Altogether 142 exhibiting companies participated in the launch, covering a net exhibition space of 1,674m².

“We are delighted with the response to the first Fastener Fair Mexico. We would like to thank all the many participants for the initial success of this show and are already looking forward to the second event in this rapidly developing economy. The commitment from our exhibitors as well as the support from industry organisations and media partners has been tremendous. The quality and quantity of the visitors was excellent and exhibitors were extremely satisfied with the launch.” says David Tellett, Managing Director of Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd.

Over one third of exhibitors were from Mexico, alongside suppliers and manufacturers from the USA, Canada, Panama, Indonesia, Spain, Taiwan, Italy, Germany, India, Brazil and China. The exhibition survey revealed that the majority of exhibitors reported positive business enquiries at their stands and achieved their aims. The survey also confirmed that exhibitors were extremely satisfied with the quality of the trade visitors.

Naturally, most of the trade visitors came from Mexico (91%). Visitors from countries outside of Mexico included the USA, the UK, Colombia, Japan, Spain and Taiwan. Visitors to Fastener Fair Mexico were mainly fastener or fixings distributors/suppliers (31%), followed by manufacturers (24%) and end users (25%). The main industry sector to which visitors belonged was automotive. Other key industry sectors included distribution, construction, electrical products and domestic appliances. Results from the exhibition survey revealed that more than two thirds of the visitors who attended the show had decision-making capacity, namely company owners, company directors and purchasing specialists.

All in all, the event provided the perfect platform for professionals to establish both commercial partnerships and new contacts within Latin America. Furthermore, Mexico City, the country’s commercial centre known for its strong industrial and trade capacity provided the perfect environment for successful trade contacts and international business relations.

The rapidly developing economy in Mexico also contributed to the success of Fastener Fair Mexico. This second largest economy in Latin America and one of the fastest developing markets in the world offers many business opportunities for the fastener and fixings industry and there are consequently increasing demands from companies in this sector.

Fastener Fair Mexico is part of the Fastener Fair series of targeted trade exhibitions for the fastener and fixing industry, which include events in Germany, Russia, India, Brazil, Turkey and the German flagship event, Fastener Fair Stuttgart, the world’s leading exhibition for the fastener and fixing industry.
