vocatium is a one-of-a-kind career and education fair held annually at the Mitsubishi Electric HALLE in Düsseldorf. It is specifically tailored for students who are at the stage of choosing a career path and wish to explore their professional futures in a focused and personalized way. The fair is organized by the IfT Institute for Talent Development GmbH – a recognized educational institution that has specialized in personal career orientation since 2008. vocatium stands for a concept that closely links information with practical experience. Its name is derived from the Latin word vocatio, meaning “calling” – and that’s precisely what it’s about: helping young people discover their individual career paths.

At the heart of the fair is its proven format of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings. Even before the event begins, participants arrange fixed appointments with selected exhibitors. This allows them to receive targeted, first-hand information – directly, reliably, and efficiently. Opportunities presented include apprenticeships, dual study programs, traditional university degrees, internships, voluntary services, and stays abroad. The program is complemented by expert talks on topics such as job applications, career orientation, and planning for the future. At interactive STEM stations, visitors can get hands-on experience with careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
