Bern is the capital of Switzerland and has 130.000 inhabitants. The centre is characterised by historical buildings and bridges. The Zeitglockenturm (bell tower) and the old sandstone building are definitely a must-see in Bern as well as the unique fountains, the Bundeshaus and the Minster. The fairground of the city, the BEA Bern Expo, passes for one of the biggest in Switzerland. The open-air ground alone covers 100,000 m2. The hall consists of five buildings with various halls of different sizes. Hall 210 and 220 offer the widest space with about 7.400 m2. The conference centre is situated nearby, and offers exhibition rooms for conferences and trainings. If you arrive by car, leave the motorway at the interchange Bern-Wankdorf. A few hundret metres away, you can park on one of the 2.500 parking places near the fairground, of which 700 belong to a subterranean car park. Tram number 9 is 2 minutes from there and brings you directly to Bern’s centre. The airport Bern-Belp is also not far away from the fairground. You need 1,5 hours from the airports in Zurich and Basel to Bern. Moreover, you will have direct access to the public transport at the train station of Bern.
