AMB is one of Europe’s leading trade fairs for metal-cutting technologies. Since its inception in 1982, it has played a pivotal role in shaping innovation within the metalworking industry. The name "AMB" stands for "International Exhibition for Metalworking" and reflects both the global orientation of the event and its strong ties to Baden-Württemberg – one of Europe’s major industrial regions. Held every two years at Messe Stuttgart, the event is organized by Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH, which has established AMB as a key platform for technological exchange, expert knowledge, and business networking.
AMB focuses on the complete process chain of metal-cutting production. The exhibition showcases a broad spectrum of technologies, including machine tools, precision tools, production systems, control and drive technology, as well as solutions in automation, robotics, and digitalized manufacturing processes. The offering is further enriched by innovations in CAD/CAM, artificial intelligence, and Industry 4.0 – including open interfaces such as OPC UA and the umati initiative, which serves as a benchmark for intelligent machine communication. The range is complemented by metrology, quality assurance, material handling systems, and services related to maintenance and workshop equipment.
The trade fair offers substantial value to industry professionals by not only presenting the latest product innovations but also fostering practical exchange – through special showcases on smart factory concepts, targeted networking opportunities, and the exclusive International Gallery for global exhibitors.
Exhibitors primarily represent sectors such as mechanical engineering, the automotive and aerospace industries, tool and mold making, as well as control systems, software development, and quality assurance. Visitors include production managers, engineers, CNC specialists, procurement professionals, and decision-makers, mainly from German-speaking countries and other industrial regions across Europe.
With its direct connection to the airport and proximity to the A8 motorway, Messe Stuttgart is easily accessible both nationally and internationally. Its state-of-the-art infrastructure provides the ideal setting for this flagship event in the metalworking sector, where technology, markets, and people come together in a unique way.
The AMB will take place on 5 days from Tuesday, 15. September to Saturday, 19. September 2026 in Stuttgart.
