Exhibition calender with current Advent Markets from 31.10.2026. Advent markets are temporary fairs that take place in the run-up to Christmas and traditionally feature crafts, food, rides, music and other performances. Regionally, Advent markets can also be referred to as “Christmas markets”, “Christmas markets”, “Santa Claus markets”. As a rule, Advent markets take place in the entire period from the beginning of Advent to Christmas, the turn of the year or until Epiphany.
Advent Markets worldwide by countrySpecial goods are offered at Advent markets, such as handicrafts for Christmas decorations and food. Many Christmas markets also offer visitors rides, music, and performances such as nativity plays. Probably the oldest markets of this kind are the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt, the Dresden Striezelmarkt and the Cologne Christmas market, each of which has existed since the 14th century.
