The Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong is an annual contemporary art fair dedicated to making high-quality artworks accessible and affordable to a wide audience. Since its founding in 2013, it has become a well-established event in the international art scene. The fair is held at the centrally located Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), a modern venue with excellent infrastructure and connectivity. It is organized by Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong, a branch of the original fair series launched in London in 1999 by Ramsay Fairs Ltd., which now attracts art lovers in cities such as New York, Amsterdam, and Melbourne.
The fair welcomes art professionals, collectors, and curious newcomers alike. It serves as an inspiring platform for leading galleries, established artists, and emerging talents. A key feature is the price cap of HK$100,000 for all exhibited works—an initiative that appeals to both first-time buyers and seasoned collectors. The wide-ranging selection includes paintings, sculptures, photography, mixed media, and prints, with special emphasis on limited editions and hand-crafted prints.
The fair places thematic focus on both aesthetic and socially relevant content. Many works reflect Hong Kong’s local culture and identity, portraying cityscapes, historic landmarks, and cultural symbols. Through its “Young Talent Hong Kong” platform, up-and-coming local artists receive targeted support along with international exposure and sales opportunities. Natural and botanical motifs offer a sense of calm and balance amid the city’s fast-paced environment.
Another key theme is “The Healing Power of Art”, which explores the therapeutic potential of artistic expression. This is complemented by guided meditations and contemplative spaces that encourage mindfulness and reflection. Interactive installations invite visitors to actively engage in the creative process, fostering thought and dialogue.
With its focus on affordability, cultural diversity, and creative participation, the Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong is more than a marketplace—it is a vibrant art experience that blends international quality with local character, making art a tangible and enriching part of everyday life.
The first day of the trade fair is usually reserved for trade visitors and journalists. The Affordable Art Fair takes place annually, and therefore for the thirteenth time previsibly in May 2026 in Hong Kong.
