The book fair BÜCHER(T)RÄUME in Gutenstein is an annual literary event held in late autumn, bringing together readers, authors, and publishers in a special atmosphere. Since its founding in 2024, it has provided a one-day opportunity each year to explore books from a wide range of genres and engage in direct exchange with writers and publishers.
The fair is organized by Dorfschmiede für nachhaltige Lebensräume eG, a nonprofit cooperative dedicated to the sustainable development of rural areas. Its mission is to showcase innovative ways to shape the future of villages and to inspire new impulses for a vibrant, sustainable community life.
The event takes place at Dorfpension Mariahilfberg, located in the idyllic village of Gutenstein, Austria. The unique combination of a historic setting and literary offerings creates a truly special atmosphere. Authors and publishers present their works in the cozy single and double rooms of the guesthouse, as well as at inviting book tables in the adjacent Servite Monastery. This setting fosters inspiration, exchange, and unforgettable literary experiences.
Gutenstein is easily accessible by train, with the venue located about a ten-minute drive from the station. For visitors arriving by car, ample parking is available. The location on Mariahilfberg provides a stunning backdrop, inviting guests to enjoy not only the literary program but also the peaceful surroundings and the monastery’s unique atmosphere.
The BÜCHER(T)RÄUME book fair blends literature with an extraordinary ambiance, making every visit a truly special experience – a place where stories come to life.
The second edition of the BÜCHER(T)RÄUME takes place on Sat., 18.10.2025 in Gutenstein.
