Christmas markets – Appointments from November 2025
Exhibition calender with current Christmas markets from 14.11.2025. Christmas markets are often held during the Advent season from mid-November to December 23rd, or even as late as Christmas Eve. In addition to handicrafts and Christmas decorations, drinks and food are offered at many lovingly decorated stands. Visitors don't have to go without rides and music, either.
Christmas markets worldwide by countryProbably the oldest Christmas market in the world is the Advent market in Vienna, which was first held in 1296 and from which today's Christkindlmarkt on Rathausplatz emerges. The Dresden Striezelmarkt, dating back to 1434, is one of the three oldest Christmas markets in Germany. The Christmas market in Frankfurt am Main dates back to 1393 and is now considered the largest Christmas market in Germany due to the large number of visitors. The Bautzen Wenzelsmarkt from 1384 is considered the oldest Christmas market in Germany. Probably the most famous Christmas market is the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt, which is visited by around two million people every year.
