The Composite-Expo is a highly specialised international trade fair for composite materials. Since its launch in 2008, it has established itself as a key platform for innovation, technology exchange and business development within the composites industry. The event is organised by Mir-Expo Exhibition Company, an experienced organiser of industrial trade shows that has strategically positioned the exhibition as a leading industry event in Eastern Europe.
The exhibition takes place at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow. As one of Russia’s most modern exhibition venues, it offers the scale, infrastructure and international connectivity required for a global industry event. Held annually, Composite-Expo is now firmly embedded in the composites industry calendar.
The exhibition focuses on the latest developments across the entire composites value chain. Exhibits include specialised raw materials such as resins, additives, thermoplastics, and carbon, glass and basalt fibres, alongside semi-finished products including prepregs and textile composite structures. Visitors also gain insight into advanced manufacturing and processing technologies, including automated production systems, additive manufacturing such as 3D printing, surface treatment technologies, and testing and measurement equipment. The exhibition is further complemented by CAD/CAM software solutions, recycling approaches for sustainable material cycles, and industrial end products from a wide range of application areas.
One of the event’s key strengths is its clear industrial focus and its close alignment with economic developments in Russia and neighbouring markets. It serves as a meeting point for local companies and international stakeholders, while highlighting the growing importance of composite materials in key industries such as aerospace, automotive, construction, wind energy, mechanical engineering and shipbuilding. In addition to leading Russian companies, exhibitors from around 20 countries regularly participate, making the event an important international meeting place.
A further emphasis is placed on knowledge transfer and innovation. Specialist conferences, technology presentations and exchanges between industry, research institutions and universities provide a forum for identifying emerging trends and discussing practical applications at an early stage.
The visitor profile is equally specialised: engineers, developers, procurement professionals, production managers and decision-makers from industry and research attend the exhibition to evaluate new materials, technologies and business partners. As such, Composite-Expo is not a public-facing event, but a focused working platform for industry professionals.
Finally, the exhibition stands out not only for its technical depth but also for its excellent accessibility. The Crocus Expo site is directly connected to Moscow’s transport network, with convenient access via international airports, the metro system and road infrastructure. This ensures easy travel for international visitors and makes Krasnogorsk a central meeting point for the global composites industry each year.
The Composite-Expo takes place annually, and therefore for the eighteenth time previsibly in April 2027 in Krasnogorsk.
