EDRR China Shanghai

EDRR China – the Yangtze River Delta International Emergency Disaster Reduction & Rescue Expo – is an international trade fair dedicated to disaster risk reduction, emergency management, rescue technology and public safety. Open exclusively to trade visitors, the event provides a platform for the safety and emergency response sector, bringing together technology providers, professional users, government authorities, research institutions and procurement professionals.

The event is held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), or NECC, one of China’s leading exhibition venues. EDRR China takes place every two years.

One of the key institutional organisations behind the event is the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Emergency Management. This close involvement of public-sector bodies gives the exhibition a strong business-to-government (B2G) focus. Alongside conventional business-to-business networking, particular emphasis is placed on engagement with government authorities, public procurement and the implementation of national safety and resilience strategies.

Digital technologies are also playing an increasingly important role, including artificial intelligence, 5G, big data, BeiDou satellite navigation, intelligent security systems, drones and robotics.

EDRR China is therefore far more than a conventional product showcase. Manufacturers meet government authorities, emergency response organisations and professional users, while providers of integrated safety, consultancy, logistics and emergency management solutions present their technologies and concepts. The main sectors represented include fire and rescue technology, vehicle and mechanical engineering, information and communications technology, security and surveillance systems, medical technology, personal protective equipment, logistics, infrastructure, energy, aerospace technology, research and technical services. The exhibition also features companies specialising in smart cities, industrial safety and digital incident command and management.

Trade visitors primarily include decision-makers and professionals from emergency management and disaster response authorities, fire and rescue services, police and public safety organisations, local authorities and municipal administrations, industrial companies, infrastructure and energy operators, healthcare, logistics, and research and development. The event is particularly relevant to procurement professionals and decision-makers seeking practical technologies and solutions for prevention, incident command, rescue operations and post-disaster recovery.

Key features of EDRR China include extensive technology and innovation showcases, complemented by specialist forums, conferences and technical seminars running alongside the exhibition. The National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) is located in Qingpu District, close to the major Shanghai Hongqiao transport hub. Hongqiao Railway Station is approximately 1.5 kilometres from the exhibition centre. The NECC is easily accessible from both the railway station and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport via Metro Line 2 and East Xujing Station. EDRR China therefore combines one of Asia’s most dynamic economic centres with a highly specialised industry platform where government authorities, industry and research organisations develop and showcase solutions designed to detect disasters earlier, manage emergency operations more effectively, and strengthen the long-term resilience of cities and critical infrastructure.
