The Euro Expo in Luleå is a two-day, biennial trade fair that has established itself as a key platform for the green and digital transformation of northern Sweden’s industry. Since its inception in 1997, it has followed a unique concept: rather than gathering all participants at a central location, it connects industrial companies regionally – in this case, in Luleå, the industrial hub of northern Sweden. The event is organized by European Exposition Systems AB, based in Gävle, an experienced trade fair provider that has been connecting regional industrial hubs in Sweden and Norway for nearly three decades.
As a professional trade fair with free admission for industry employees, Euro Expo is aimed exclusively at a qualified audience – decision-makers, specialists, and innovation leaders from sectors such as electronics, mechanical engineering, production, maintenance, procurement, safety, and public administration. The venue is the Arcushallen in Luleå – one of the largest multipurpose halls in northern Sweden – offering ideal conditions for business-oriented networking, product presentations, and industry-specific solutions.
The focus of the fair is on current challenges and key technologies in industrial development. Topics such as green technologies, sustainable energy supply, circular economy, and resource conservation are central themes. The use and transportation of green hydrogen, energy-efficient solutions for municipalities and industry, and strategies for waste reduction highlight the region’s profound transformation through major initiatives such as HYBRIT and H2 Green Steel, which aim to make fossil-free steel viable on an industrial scale.
At the same time, Euro Expo is an important forum for innovations in digitalization and artificial intelligence. Companies present applications of AI in production and logistics, intelligent Industry 4.0 concepts, automation technologies, and solutions for IT security – all of which are highly relevant to the development of smart factories.
A defining feature of the fair is its strong connection to the regional mining and mineral industry. Luleå is located in Norrbotten, one of Europe’s richest regions in raw materials. Euro Expo is therefore a key meeting point for suppliers and users of autonomous mining machines, sustainable extraction technologies, and innovative mineral processing methods.
The fair also includes sectors such as construction, infrastructure, public services, transportation, logistics, and talent acquisition. In a region experiencing strong growth and major infrastructure projects – from railway expansion to energy-efficient housing – the event provides a targeted platform for companies, municipalities, and organizations involved in industrial transformation. Cities and communities can find opportunities for smart urban planning, social innovation, and educational initiatives.
Moreover, the fair serves as a platform for recruiting skilled professionals. Companies showcase themselves as attractive employers, establish connections with educational institutions, and position themselves in the competitive market for qualified talent – a crucial factor in a region with a growing demand for personnel.
Thus, the Euro Expo in Luleå is far more than a traditional exhibition. It is a strategic tool for the industrial development of northern Sweden, offering companies a focused, efficient, and cost-effective way to network with partners, customers, and talent in one of the country’s most economically significant regions.
The Euro Expo in Lulea took place from Wednesday, 24. September to Thursday, 25. September 2025.
