The Bombay Convention & Exhibition Center (BEC) is located in Mumbai, India, and is the largest privately owned exhibition centre in the country. Mumbai - until 1996 called Bombay - is the most important port city in India and, with its 13.9 million inhabitants, one of the largest cities in the world. The exhibition centre, built in 1991, offers an exhibition area of 45,000 m², where many international and national exhibitions and fairs take place. The Centre has excellent transport links and is situated close to the city centre. It is accessible within 20 minutes by foot; however, the centre is also linked to public transport (bus and train). Located at the Western Express Highway, the Bombay Exhibition Centre can be reached from the airport in just 10 minutes and also offers convenient accessibility from other regions. There are various hotels, attractions and shopping centres in the area. Parking spaces for approx. 2,000 cars are available at the centre.
