The port city Rostock has a size of 181.4 skm and a population of 200,000 people. In 2002, the HanseMesse was opened as the new exhibition and exposition centre of the whole Federal State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The centre is located in the north east of the city within the disctrict Rostock-Schmarl close to the river Warnos and the Baltic Sea. By car, the area can be reached via motorway A20 and the slip road B105 or via A19 using the Warnow tunnel. The traffic-guidance system easily leads to the destination where 1,300 parking places are at the disposal. The exhibition hall offers six seminar rooms in the rotundas of the ground floor and in the upper floor, with place for 470 seminar participants or 210 banquet guests. The hall with a total size of 10,600 sqm has a capacity of approx. 6,000 seats or 9,000 guests without seating. Travel connections are excellent with regard to the ferry link to Scandinavia and the excellent train connections to the main station of Rostock. By plane, the fairground can be reached via the Airport Rostock-Lage. From the main station, it needs 10 minutes to reach the station Lütten-Klein by city train. The HanseMesse is only 500 metres away.
