Film Art Fair Leipzig

Established in 2001 by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kino - Gilde deutscher Filmkunsttheater e.V., the Leipzig Film Art Fair (Filmkunstmesse) has proven itself as an annual professional and public fair in the European film landscape. Over five days in September, it provides cinema operators, film distributors, and industry experts a platform for intensive exchange and attracts both professionals and film enthusiasts.

The fair is held at several impressive locations in Leipzig, including the Salles de Pologne, the Zeitgeschichtliches Forum, the Felsenkeller, and the Alte Handelsbörse. These historically and architecturally significant venues create the perfect setting for over 60 film presentations, often shown well before their official national release.

The comprehensive program of the Film Art Fair includes film screenings, discussion rounds, and seminars that deepen the dialogue about the challenges and opportunities of the film art market. It particularly emphasizes the development of future strategies for independent cinemas in Germany and Europe, focusing on adapting to digital trends and online positioning.
