HanaCon is an annual fair held in Hanover, organized by HanaCon e.V. since its inception in 2022. The fair's goal is to introduce a broader audience to Japanese and Korean culture. This is achieved through a variety of workshops, shows, and an accompanying exhibition held at the "Hölderlin Eins" cultural center in the Kleefeld district.
The "Hölderlin Eins" cultural center is attractively located near the large city park in Kleefeld, a district known for its cultural diversity and recreational areas. Its excellent accessibility via public transportation makes it an ideal venue for events.
At HanaCon, visitors can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of East Asian cultures. The program includes cultural performances, artistic workshops, and the opportunity to purchase artworks directly related to Japan and Korea. A particular highlight of the fair is the Maid Café, which attracts guests with its sweet treats and drinks.
HanaCon not only offers insights into the traditional aspects of Japanese and Korean culture but also into the modern pop culture of these countries. With this wide range of themes, the fair appeals to both connoisseurs and newcomers to East Asian culture.
Overall, HanaCon is distinguished by its unique mix of education, entertainment, and artistic diversity, making it an enriching experience for all visitors. With its annual occurrence, the fair has become a permanent fixture in Hanover's cultural calendar and contributes to further enlivening the city's cultural life.
The HanaCon will take place on 2 days from Saturday, 11. May to Sunday, 12. May 2024 in Hanover.
