KINO Baden-Baden

The "KINO" is the leading trade fair with an accompanying congress for cinema operators in the German-speaking region, exclusively targeting industry professionals. Every spring, the event welcomes representatives of the cinema industry to the picturesque town of Baden-Baden. The modern Congress Center Baden-Baden, with its central location and high-end facilities, offers ideal conditions for networking, information exchange, and professional dialogue.

Organized by hdfstudio GmbH on behalf of HDF KINO e.V., "KINO" combines a specialized trade fair with an extensive congress program. National and international experts gather here to explore trends and innovations in the cinema industry, exchange ideas about the sector’s future, and discover new solutions. The exhibition covers the full range of cinema technology – from digital projectors, audio systems, and 3D technology to projection screens. It is complemented by displays of modern seating concepts, concession and ticketing systems, and convenience products for cinema operations. A particular focus is placed on software solutions, including DCP and KDM management systems, online ticketing tools, and web applications.

One of the event’s highlights is the series of presentations by almost all major film distributors, who showcase their upcoming film slates and provide exclusive previews of future cinema releases. The congress program focuses specifically on topics shaping the industry's future. In seminars, panels, and workshops, participants discuss regulatory developments, the needs of German cinema production, new operational standards, and strategies for ecological, economic, and social sustainability. On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 4 days of the fair, from 08. May to 11. May 2023, about 75 exhibitors and 1100 visitors on the KINO in Baden-Baden.
