Moulding Expo is an internationally oriented trade fair for tool, pattern, and mould making that has established itself as a key industry meeting point since its inception in 2015. Held biennially at the state-of-the-art Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre, it is exclusively aimed at industry professionals. The event is organised by Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH.
What sets Moulding Expo apart is its consistent focus on the practical needs of traditional tool, pattern, and mould making from the user's perspective. At its core are tools for stamping, forming, injection moulding, and die casting, as well as gauge and fixture construction. The production of models and prototypes also plays a central role. In addition, exhibitors showcase modern machine tools, precision tools, clamping technology, metrology, software solutions, and standardised components. The fair also offers a comprehensive overview of materials used in the industry – ranging from metals and plastics to ceramics and composite materials – and highlights current technologies such as hot runner systems, welding techniques, and surface treatment processes.
A particular benefit for businesses is the fair’s dedicated forum, where practical lectures and panel discussions address key developments across the sector. Topics include cybersecurity, digital manufacturing, sustainable production, and data-driven value creation. As such, Moulding Expo serves not only as a showcase for technical innovation but also as a catalyst for strategic business transformation.
Exhibitors predominantly come from tool and machine building, the automotive and plastics industries, as well as the supply sector. Visitors primarily include professionals from small and medium-sized enterprises, technology partners, and decision-makers in production, design, and development.
One of the fair’s highlights is the joint stand of the Association of German Tool and Mould Makers (VDWF), where innovative companies present their latest solutions and engage in exchange with universities and industry associations.
Stuttgart offers ideal logistical conditions: the trade fair venue is one of the most modern in Europe and is just minutes away from the airport and motorway junction. This makes Moulding Expo not only a key platform for tool and mould making, but also a conveniently accessible meeting point for forward-thinking companies.
The Moulding Expo takes place biennially, and therefore for the 6th time previsibly in May 2027 in Stuttgart.
