The National Franchise Show is Canada’s largest trade fair for franchise and business concepts. It is aimed at individuals planning to start their own business and seeking proven, scalable models for self-employment.
Held twice a year – in spring and fall – the event takes place in Toronto. The venues alternate between the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and the International Centre, two of the city’s most prominent exhibition facilities. The show is organized by National Event Management Inc., a seasoned company specializing in consumer and trade events across North America.
At the heart of the exhibition are over 190 franchise concepts from a wide range of industries. From food service and retail to service-based and tech-driven models, the opportunities on display cater to various investment levels and are suited for both part-time and full-time commitments. The show demonstrates the diversity of today’s franchise market and the concrete opportunities it offers to both newcomers and experienced entrepreneurs.
A key feature of the event is the direct, in-person exchange it facilitates. Visitors have the chance to speak face-to-face with franchisors, franchisees, and industry experts. These conversations provide valuable insights and often mark the beginning of successful long-term business relationships.
The exhibition is complemented by a comprehensive program of seminars and workshops. Industry professionals cover practical topics such as business formation, financing, legal frameworks, market analysis, real estate strategies, and technological trends in franchising – including automation and artificial intelligence. Special focus is given to the legal and strategic aspects of expanding an existing business through franchising.
Additional inspiration comes from the real-life success stories of franchisees who, after attending the show, took the leap into entrepreneurship and built sustainable business structures – some with multiple locations, others with a focus on achieving early financial independence.
The show primarily targets aspiring entrepreneurs, small business owners, investors, and career changers – regardless of their industry background. For exhibiting companies, it offers a focused platform to attract qualified prospects and connect with potential franchise partners.
As part of a larger series of events held across Canada and the United States, The National Franchise Show forms a key network for showcasing the North American franchise market.
Toronto provides the ideal setting for the show. As a dynamic economic hub with a high rate of entrepreneurial activity, the city also boasts excellent infrastructure, including direct access to an international airport and efficient public transit. Both venues – the downtown Metro Toronto Convention Centre and the airport-adjacent International Centre – are modern and easily accessible, creating the perfect environment for productive and inspiring trade show days with real business potential.
The The National Franchise Show will take place on 2 days from Saturday, 17. January to Sunday, 18. January 2026 in Toronto.
