The VDP.Weinbörse is a trade fair for top-quality German wines and a key meeting point for industry professionals from retail, gastronomy, and the media. Organized annually by the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (Verband Deutscher Prädikats- und Qualitätsweingüter, VDP), the event takes place at the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz. Admission is reserved exclusively for trade visitors.

As a platform for quality, innovation, and exchange, the VDP.Weinbörse brings together nearly all of the 202 VDP estates from across Germany under one roof. Winemakers present their latest vintages in person, offering a compelling insight into German wine culture at its finest. Alongside established grape varieties such as Riesling and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), the focus also includes developments such as biodynamic viticulture, orange wines, indigenous grape varieties, and sustainable winegrowing concepts that combine ecological responsibility with economic viability.

Visitors can expect not only an exclusive selection of wines but also in-depth expertise delivered through hands-on masterclasses. Whether it’s emerging trends in German Pinot Noir, the renaissance of Riesling, or the future of sustainable viticulture, the VDP.Weinbörse provides valuable, practice-oriented knowledge at a high professional level. This depth of content makes the event an indispensable resource for meaningful industry exchange.

Professionals from across Europe—including winemakers, merchants, restaurateurs, sommeliers, and journalists—use the fair as an opportunity for direct dialogue, networking, and developing new business relationships. The VDP.Weinbörse is considered a reliable indicator of vintage quality and a trendsetter for the German wine industry. It also plays an important role for the city of Mainz, which, as the wine capital of Rheinhessen, offers excellent transport connections by train, car, or plane due to its central location.

The Rheingoldhalle, situated directly on the Rhine and just steps from the historic old town, provides an ideal setting for the event. For anyone seeking a comprehensive overview of Germany’s wine elite—combined with top-tier tasting, information, and networking—the VDP.Weinbörse is an unmissable occasion.

The VDP.Weinboerse takes place annually, and therefore for the Forty-Sixth time previsibly in April 2026 in Mainz.
