Volta‑X is the international innovation platform for cutting-edge energy technologies. Held every two years at Messe Stuttgart, it is organized by Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH in the heart of one of Europe’s leading technology regions.

Volta‑X brings together industry, research, and policy to make holistic solutions for the energy future tangible. The focus lies on intelligent energy storage systems, flexible sector coupling, digital grid integration, and economically scalable technologies for electricity, heat, and mobility. The event positions itself as a practical response to the challenges of the energy transition—and as a catalyst for climate-neutral transformation.

With its hands-on forums, high-profile symposia, and a diverse range of exhibitors—from established technology leaders to pioneering start-ups—Volta‑X offers deep insights into current and emerging technologies. Topics include battery storage, UPS and emergency power systems, smart grid solutions, thermal technologies, charging infrastructure, and grid planning. The exhibition is further enriched by applications such as power-to-heat, DC microgrids, frequency control, and AI-supported system optimization—presented in collaboration with partners like ZSW and Fraunhofer ISIT.

Exhibitors represent fields such as energy technology, industrial automation, building and district management, mobility solutions, utilities, and research institutions. The audience is just as diverse: engineers, energy providers, grid operators, project developers, planning offices, public authorities, and policymakers all come together here for inspiration and exchange.

A particular highlight is the E&M Forum, where more than 50 experts from business and science demonstrate how innovative energy storage solutions can be integrated into industrial practice. The Start-up Area and various networking formats offer additional opportunities for partnerships and new ideas.

With direct access to the airport and motorway network, Messe Stuttgart is ideally located for international visitors. As one of Baden-Württemberg’s leading trade fair venues, it stands for innovation, industrial strength, and sustainable development.

Volta‑X is more than just a trade fair – it is the central meeting point for everyone who wants to actively shape the energy world of tomorrow.

The Volta-X will take place on 3 days from Tuesday, 02. March to Thursday, 04. March 2027 in Stuttgart.
