The Wolle Festival is an annual consumer exhibition dedicated to premium yarns, textile crafts, and creative fibre arts. Held at the Alte Kelter in Fellbach, the event brings together passionate knitting and crochet enthusiasts, professional designers, textile artists, independent makers, and anyone with an appreciation for high-quality textiles and traditional craftsmanship.
Organised by Lorenz GmbH, the Wolle Festival provides a platform for premium materials, creative inspiration, and personal exchange within the fibre arts community. At its core is an extensive selection of luxury natural fibres and premium yarns, including virgin wool, Merino wool, alpaca, mohair, cashmere, cotton, and silk, alongside sustainably produced and hand-dyed yarns. The exhibition is complemented by a comprehensive range of knitting and crochet accessories, including knitting needles, crochet hooks, stitch markers, yarn winders, swifts, scissors, buttons, and many other specialist tools for discerning crafters.
The festival also showcases a broad spectrum of both traditional and contemporary textile crafts. Visitors can explore techniques such as knitting, crochet, felting, spinning, weaving, and knotting, while discovering handcrafted one-of-a-kind pieces, exclusive designer creations, and distinctive textile products made by independent producers and artisan makers. Numerous exhibitors share their expertise, introduce innovative materials, and present new techniques alongside the latest trends from the international fibre arts community.
One of the festival's highlights is its programme of live demonstrations and interactive workshops, where visitors can try a variety of techniques for themselves while learning from experienced designers and specialist exhibitors. The opportunity to exchange ideas, immerse themselves in a creative atmosphere, and gain first-hand knowledge and inspiration has established the Wolle Festival as one of the leading meeting places for the German-speaking fibre arts community.
Exhibitors primarily represent the yarn manufacturing and wool trade, textile design, artisan crafts, haberdashery and accessory production, as well as small-scale manufacturers and specialist craft businesses. Key visitor groups include knitters, crocheters, felt makers, weavers, spinners, textile artists, designers, workshop tutors, specialist retailers, and anyone seeking premium materials and fresh inspiration for their own creative projects.
With its historic character and modern event facilities, the Alte Kelter Fellbach provides an ideal setting for an inspiring exhibition experience. Situated in the heart of Fellbach, just outside Stuttgart, the venue benefits from excellent public transport connections via S-Bahn and bus services, as well as convenient road access from the B14 and B29, making it easily accessible by both car and public transport.
The Wolle-Festival will take place on 2 days from Saturday, 05. September to Sunday, 06. September 2026 in Fellbach.
