The Wolle-Festival is an annual public exhibition dedicated to premium yarns, textile crafts and creative fibre arts. Held at the Autalhalle in Niedernhausen, the event brings together passionate knitting and crochet enthusiasts, professional designers, textile artists, independent makers and anyone with an interest in high-quality textiles and traditional craftsmanship.
Organised by Lorenz GmbH, the Wolle-Festival provides a platform for premium materials, creative inspiration and personal exchange within the textile crafts community. The focus is on natural fibres and premium yarns, including virgin wool, Merino wool, alpaca, mohair, cashmere, cotton and silk, alongside sustainably produced and hand-dyed yarns. The exhibition is complemented by a comprehensive range of knitting and crochet accessories, including knitting needles, crochet hooks, stitch markers, yarn winders, swifts, scissors, buttons and many other tools for discerning crafters.
The festival also showcases a broad spectrum of traditional and contemporary textile craft techniques. Visitors can explore knitting, crochet, felting, spinning, weaving and knotting while discovering handcrafted one-of-a-kind pieces, exclusive designer creations and distinctive textile products from independent makers and artisan workshops. Numerous exhibitors share their expertise, present innovative materials and demonstrate new techniques as well as the latest trends from the international fibre arts community.
One of the festival's highlights is its programme of live demonstrations and hands-on workshops, where visitors can try a variety of techniques for themselves while learning from experienced designers and specialist exhibitors. The opportunity to exchange ideas, experience a creative atmosphere and gain first-hand knowledge and inspiration has established the event as a popular meeting place for the German-speaking textile crafts community.
Exhibitors primarily represent the yarn manufacturing, wool trade, textile design, arts and crafts, accessories manufacturing and specialist artisan sectors, as well as independent workshops and small-scale producers. Key visitor groups include knitting and crochet enthusiasts, felt makers, weavers, spinners, textile artists, designers, workshop tutors, specialist retailers and anyone seeking high-quality materials and fresh creative inspiration for their own projects.
With its manageable size and modern facilities, the Autalhalle in Niedernhausen provides an ideal setting for a welcoming and personal exhibition experience. Conveniently located close to the A3 motorway and the railway station, which offers direct services to Wiesbaden, Frankfurt am Main and Limburg, the venue is easily accessible by both car and public transport.
The Wolle-Festival will take place on 2 days from Saturday, 15. August to Sunday, 16. August 2026 in Niedernhausen.
