The Wolle-Festival is an annual consumer exhibition dedicated to wool, yarns and textile crafts. It has established itself as a leading meeting place for creative craftsmanship, premium-quality materials and the exchange of ideas within the knitting and fibre arts community. Held each year at the Messehalle Halle (Saale), the event is organised by Lorenz GmbH, a company with many years of experience in staging exhibitions and festivals. The Wolle Festival has also been successfully established as a registered trademark.

The exhibition showcases an extensive selection of premium natural fibres and luxury yarns, including merino, alpaca, mohair, cashmere, cotton and silk, alongside sustainably produced and hand-dyed yarns. Visitors can also explore a comprehensive range of accessories for both traditional and contemporary needlecraft, including knitting needles, crochet hooks, circular knitting accessories, stitch markers, yarn winders, swifts, scissors, buttons, and a wide variety of specialist tools and notions. In addition, exhibitors present patterns, knitting and sewing designs, handcrafted one-off pieces, designer creations and finely crafted textile products. Traditional textile crafts such as felting, spinning, weaving and macramé also form an integral part of the exhibition programme, reflecting the richness and diversity of textile craftsmanship.

One of the festival's defining features is its combination of shopping, learning and hands-on experience. Visitors can watch experienced textile artists demonstrate their techniques, discover new skills and take part in practical workshops where traditional and contemporary crafts are taught by experts. As a result, the exhibition provides an inspiring environment for creative exchange, bringing together the latest trends, innovative materials and time-honoured craftsmanship under one roof.

Exhibitors primarily represent the yarn manufacturing, textile design, artisan crafts, needlecraft supplies and wool retail sectors, alongside independent makers and designer brands. Many travel from across Germany and other European countries to showcase exclusive collections and handcrafted pieces that are often unavailable through conventional retail outlets. The festival attracts passionate knitters and crocheters, textile artists, designers, wool shop owners, creative professionals and hobby crafters seeking premium materials, expert advice and fresh inspiration for their projects.

The Wolle Festival is of considerable importance to the city of Halle (Saale) and the wider Saxony-Anhalt region. It attracts visitors from across Germany, enhancing the region's reputation as a destination for specialist creative and craft exhibitions. At the same time, it reflects growing consumer interest in sustainability, traditional craftsmanship and individually handcrafted products. The festival also forms part of Lorenz GmbH's nationwide portfolio of events and is held annually at several locations throughout Germany, providing both exhibitors and visitors with access to a broad national network.

As a modern, fully accessible venue, Messehalle Halle (Saale) provides excellent facilities for hosting the exhibition. Its convenient location, ample on-site parking and direct access to the A9, A14 and A38 motorways make it easy to reach by car, while excellent public transport links ensure convenient access by rail, tram and bus. Halle (Saale) Central Station offers direct long-distance and regional rail services to numerous German cities, and the venue is well served by the HAVAG tram and bus network. Its close proximity to Leipzig/Halle Airport also makes the exhibition readily accessible for visitors travelling from further afield, providing ideal conditions for attendees from across Germany and neighbouring countries.

The Wolle-Festival will take place on 2 days from Saturday, 17. October to Sunday, 18. October 2026 in Halle.
