The Wolle-Festival is an annual consumer exhibition dedicated to wool, yarns and textile crafts. Over the years, it has established itself as a leading meeting place for creative textile craftsmanship, premium-quality materials and the exchange of ideas within the knitting and fibre arts community. Held each year at Brandboxx Hannover in Langenhagen, the event is organised by Lorenz GmbH, a company with many years of experience in staging exhibitions and festivals. Lorenz GmbH has successfully established the Wolle Festival as a registered brand.
The exhibition focuses on high-quality natural fibres and premium yarns, including merino wool, alpaca, mohair, cashmere, cotton and silk, alongside sustainably produced and hand-dyed yarns. Visitors can also explore an extensive selection of accessories for both traditional and contemporary needlecrafts, including knitting needles, crochet hooks, circular knitting accessories, stitch markers, yarn winders, swifts, scissors, buttons and a wide range of specialist tools and equipment. In addition, exhibitors present knitting patterns, sewing patterns, handcrafted one-of-a-kind pieces, designer collections and finely crafted textile products. Traditional fibre crafts such as felting, spinning, weaving and knotting also form an integral part of the exhibition programme, showcasing the diversity of textile craftsmanship.
One of the festival's defining features is its combination of shopping, learning and hands-on experiences. Visitors can watch experienced textile artists demonstrate their techniques, discover new skills and take part in workshops where practical craft techniques are taught by experts. As a result, the event has become an inspiring platform for creative exchange, bringing together the latest trends, innovative materials and traditional craftsmanship in equal measure.
Exhibitors primarily represent the yarn manufacturing, textile design, artisan crafts, needlecraft supplies and wool retail sectors, alongside independent makers and designer brands. Many travel from across Germany and other European countries to showcase exclusive collections and handcrafted pieces that are often unavailable through conventional retail channels. The festival attracts enthusiastic knitters and crocheters, textile artists, designers, wool shop owners, creative professionals and hobby crafters seeking high-quality materials, expert advice and fresh inspiration for their projects.
The Wolle Festival makes a significant contribution to Langenhagen, the Hanover region and the wider state of Lower Saxony. Each year, it attracts visitors from across Germany, reinforcing the region's reputation as an attractive destination for specialist creative exhibitions. At the same time, the event reflects the growing demand for sustainable consumption, traditional craftsmanship and individually crafted products. As part of Lorenz GmbH's nationwide series of events, the Wolle Festival is held annually at several locations throughout Germany, providing both exhibitors and visitors with the benefits of a strong nationwide network.
As a modern, fully accessible exhibition and event venue, Brandboxx Hannover in Langenhagen provides an ideal setting for the Wolle Festival. Its spacious exhibition halls offer excellent facilities for both exhibitors and visitors. With extensive on-site parking and a convenient location close to the A2 and A352 motorways, Hannover Airport and the regional public transport network, the venue is easily accessible by both car and public transport. These excellent transport links make the festival readily accessible to visitors from across Germany and neighbouring countries.
