LabCon is held at the Media City Atelier in Leipzig. In May 2000, Media City Leipzig was opened on the site of the former slaughterhouse in the Südvorstadt district of Leipzig, a complex dedicated to the production of television and film content. It is located north adjacent to the main headquarters of MDR and comprises five four-story office buildings that are similar in construction and surrounded by green courtyards. A glass hall, also known as the Media Garden, forms the connecting element of the building complexes. The external design of the modern buildings is in a uniform sand tone, echoing the yellow brick facades of the former slaughterhouse buildings.
