The Blechexpo is an international trade fair specializing in sheet metal processing and joining technology, typically held biennially in November in Stuttgart. Initially launched in 1994 under the name "Südblech," the fair underwent a significant evolution and was renamed "Blechexpo" in 2005, marking the beginning of its international recognition. Another notable milestone was its 2007 relocation to the newly designed Stuttgart exhibition grounds, creating new capacities and opportunities for exhibitors and visitors.
Behind this industry-specific event is P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG, the organizer committed to providing a platform that showcases the entire process chain of cold-forming sheet metal processing, as well as related thermal and mechanical techniques. This includes systems and methods for cutting, joining, and connecting, comprising relevant technologies, machines, equipment, peripheral devices, and operational aids.
A unique feature of Blechexpo is its combination with Schweisstec, an international trade fair for joining technology. This exclusive pairing is dedicated to the complementary technologies of sheet metal processing and joining, making it the only fair of its kind globally. The fair's focus topics range from sheet metal working machines, cutting and forming technologies, to pipe and profile processing, innovative joining and connection technology, and the presentation of semi-finished products.
Besides emphasizing products and services, Blechexpo also serves as a central information and communication hub, linking research, teaching, and professional and academic educational institutions. It addresses experts from various fields, from design and manufacturing to finishing and cleaning of components before surface treatment.
Another highlight of the event is Coilex, a technology park specializing in the production of mechatronic components. This section extends the fair's spectrum, offering insights into forward-looking technologies and processes.
The Messe Stuttgart, the venue, with its modern infrastructure and spatial flexibility, provides ideal conditions for an event of this magnitude, promoting exchange, networking, and knowledge transfer among professional visitors and exhibitors.
Overall, Blechexpo is an indispensable event for professionals in the sheet metal processing industry and related sectors, serving both as a marketplace for innovative solutions and a showcase for technological developments, as well as a forum for exchanging expert knowledge and best practices.
On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 4 days of the fair, from 05. November to 08. November 2019, about 1498 exhibitors from 36 countries and 41152 visitors on the Blechexpo in Stuttgart.
Exhibitors and visitors meet for the 17th time on the Blechexpo on 4 days from Tue., 21.10.2025 to Fri., 24.10.2025 in Stuttgart.
