The Christkind Market in Himmelpforten is an annual Christmas market held during the Advent season, first organized in 2004. Himmelpforten, also known as the "Christkind Village," is located in Lower Saxony near the town of Stade and is renowned for its long-standing tradition as the home of the Christkind Post Office.
The market is set in the picturesque park surrounding the historic Villa von Issendorff, whose festively lit facade creates a unique atmosphere. Around 70 carefully selected stalls are arranged along a circular path around the villa, offering a wide variety of artisan crafts, regional specialties, and holiday treats.
Visitors can enjoy a diverse stage program featuring music, singing, and dance, some of which is organized by local clubs. A special highlight is Santa Claus’s visit to his cozy room in the villa, where he greets children and collects their wish lists.
There is also plenty of traditional food and drink: mulled wine, bratwurst, and homemade treats are available to enjoy.
The Christkind Market is easily accessible and offers a unique experience for the whole family during the festive Advent season.
The Christmas fair takes place annually, and therefore for the 21st time previsibly in December 2025 in Himmelpforten.
