The Christmas market (Barbaramarkt) in Tittmoning, a charming and festive event, has been an annual highlight during the Advent season since 1978. Initially founded by Helmut Perseis, the organization has been under the stewardship of the Kolping Family Tittmoning since 1996, who ensure an unparalleled experience with their expertise. Originally located in front of the town hall at the town square, the market, encouraged by Heinz Pirkl, found a new home around the collegiate church at Kirchenplatz starting in 2000. This move marked the birth of the Barbara Market, named after the tradition that characterizes this place.

The market stalls stretch from the collegiate church up to the castle, with the historic buildings around the church giving the market a unique atmosphere. The cultural program, presented by local groups, and the high-quality goods for sale are just some of the highlights. A special experience is the visit of Saint Lucia, who gifts children with sweets, while adults can take Barbara branches as souvenirs.

The Barbara Market in Tittmoning is known not only for its festive ambiance, which is further enhanced in the evenings by the illumination of over 3000 candles. The expansion of the market up to the castle opens up additional design possibilities and contributes to the special atmosphere. Parking is available for visitors, making it easier to access the market.
