The Christmas market in Mömbris is an annual highlight that takes place on the second weekend of Advent and attracts visitors from all over the region. The market takes place in the parking lot of the historic oil mill. The historic oil mill in Mömbris is a place where you can experience the past up close and get an exciting insight into rural life and crafts of previous centuries. The historic oil mill is not only architecturally and technologically interesting, but also a cultural heritage that gives insight into rural lifestyles and economic structures of previous centuries. Today the mill is looked after by the local local history association, which takes care of its preservation and restoration. Thanks to these efforts, visitors can visit the mill and get an idea of traditional oil production and mill culture.
In the oil mill parking lot there are numerous stalls offering a wide range of goods. From culinary delicacies to handicrafts, there is something for every taste. Particularly noteworthy are the traditional delicacies such as mushroom pan-fried dishes, sausages, lard bread and regional spirits, complemented by popular Christmas market drinks such as mulled wine and hot apple wine.
