The STEINWELTEN fair – a name that symbolically represents the captivating world of stones – has been a fixture in Zurich’s event calendar since its founding in 2012. Over the years, it has evolved into Switzerland’s leading platform for enthusiasts of minerals and gemstones. It was initiated by Kurt Worni, a recognized expert and passionate collector, who also founded the Mineral Days Zurich.

Once a year in spring, the grand hall of the historic Albisgütli Inn at the foot of Zurich’s Uetliberg transforms into a glittering meeting place for collectors, professionals, and stone enthusiasts from across Switzerland and abroad. The choice of venue is deliberate: with its traditional charm and convenient location, the Albisgütli provides the perfect setting for this specialized exhibition.

At the heart of STEINWELTEN lies the diversity, beauty, and scientific relevance of stones and minerals. Far more than a marketplace, the event is an invitation to discover, learn, and marvel. Around 50 carefully selected exhibitors present a wide range of items – from gemstones, crystals, and raw stones to fossils, unique jewelry, healing stones, and artistic creations crafted from stone. The showcased pieces originate from all over the world and reflect the vast spectrum of geological beauty in a variety of forms, colors, and stages of refinement.

Particular emphasis is placed on expertise and the exchange of knowledge. Renowned mineralogists, geologists, and stone specialists are available on-site to share scientific insights, such as the chemical composition of minerals, and to provide guidance on their use in crystal healing. As such, the fair appeals not only to professionals but also to curious visitors who wish to learn more about the symbolic and healing properties of stones.

A highlight for many is the UV mineral booth, where fluorescent crystals reveal their glowing magic under black light – a mesmerizing experience for all ages. Adding to the excitement, a prize draw offers attendees the chance to win high-quality selenite lamps.
