Weinberger Castle Advent Kefermarkt

The Weinberg Castle Advent is among the most beautiful Christmas markets in Austria and enjoys great renown even beyond the country’s borders. This unique event, which extends across the entire castle grounds of Weinberg Castle, is initiated and organized by the castle administration, which is also responsible for the preservation and care of the castle itself.

Every second weekend in December, more than 120 exhibitors and live workshops present visitors with a wide range of handcrafted art objects. Under the motto "Art instead of Kitsch", the market showcases high-quality artistic products that reflect the craftsmanship and creativity of the region.

The market’s musical program is enriched by festive Christmas concerts in the splendid Knight’s Hall, complemented by the ceremonial music of the Arienbläser of the Kefermarkt band and the hunting horn players of Nordwald, performing from the castle tower.

Culinary delights await guests of the Weinberg Castle Advent with a variety of traditional specialties and beverages, served in the castle restaurant and at the numerous food stalls. Regional delicacies invite visitors to linger and enjoy, adding a sweet touch to the experience in the picturesque Mühlviertel.

For a stress-free arrival and departure, a free shuttle service is provided near the train station. This allows visitors to enjoy the market without having to worry about parking. On Friday and Saturday evenings, both visitors and exhibitors can round off the day in a relaxed atmosphere in the ice cellar or in front of the castle.
