next Saarbrücken
| Campus career fair for students of all disciplines with a focus on career entry | regional Fair

Since its inception in 2017, the "next" career fair has become a well-established part of Saarland University’s academic calendar. Held annually, this specialized event targets students and graduates from a wide range of disciplines—from computer science, business, and systems engineering to chemistry, physics, pharmacy, materials science, law, and the humanities. Organized by Saarland University’s Career Center, the fair reflects the center’s longstanding commitment to bridging the gap between academic studies and professional life.
Located on the Saarbrücken campus, "next" offers not only a central and easily accessible venue but also a familiar setting that encourages meaningful, personal conversations. Nearby parking facilities are available in the campus parking garage.
What sets the fair apart is its distinctive atmosphere. Rather than the impersonal hustle of typical trade fairs, "next" emphasizes genuine dialogue. Discussions take place on equal footing—whether at traditional exhibition booths, over coffee in the lounge, while enjoying ice cream outdoors, or grabbing a snack at one of the food trucks. These informal meeting spots help transform career planning from a task into an inspiring day full of new perspectives.
Next brings together a diverse range of companies—international corporations, national leaders, and regional small and mid-sized enterprises. All of them offer current opportunities, including internships, student jobs, and direct-entry positions after graduation. Central to the fair are one-on-one conversations about career paths, supported by on-site professional career counseling.
A standout feature is the application support service: participants can have their application materials reviewed and receive a free professional application photo—immediate, practical help for upcoming job applications. In the lead-up to the fair, a series of hands-on workshops and training sessions help attendees prepare, offering application tips and guidance for engaging in conversations during the event.
Next is more than just a career fair—it provides real value through personal encounters, informed guidance, and concrete professional orientation. Those who attend leave not only with new contacts but also with tangible opportunities for their future.
The next takes place annually, and therefore for the fourth time previsibly in May 2026 in Saarbrücken.
