Austria Comic Con Wels

Austria Comic Con (ACC) is an annual public convention that has become a staple of Austria’s pop culture scene. It is organized by Con World Austria in collaboration with Messe Wels GmbH & Co KG, which also provides the modern Wels Exhibition Centre as the venue. As one of the country’s leading event locations, the venue offers ideal conditions for a unique convention experience, thanks to its central location and extensive infrastructure.

At the heart of ACC is the world of comics and its passionate community. The event caters to a wide audience – from long-time comic enthusiasts to families eager to explore fantastical worlds together. The convention blends tradition and modernity in a special way: rare collector’s items and antiquarian editions are showcased alongside the latest comic releases and exclusive collectibles. In the Artist Alley, international artists display their work, draw live on site, and engage directly with attendees.

Cosplay plays a central role at ACC, taking center stage at the event. The highlight is the “ACC Championship of Cosplay” – a competition that forms the creative core of the convention. The program is further enhanced by elaborately designed costumes and detailed armor displays at numerous booths, contributing to an immersive atmosphere.

Gaming is another major focus of the event. In two dedicated areas, visitors can either enjoy the nostalgic flair of classic arcade machines and pinball games or demonstrate their skills in contemporary eSports tournaments. With the “ACC Masters of eSports”, the convention offers a competitive platform where professional players and emerging talents can face off.

Another crowd-puller is the appearance of internationally renowned film and television actors. Through panels, meet-and-greets, and autograph sessions, fans have the chance to meet their idols in person. Fan clubs and fan communities also have a strong presence at the event, inviting attendees to connect and bringing pop culture to life with creative activities.
