BOS:EXPO Augsburg
25. - 27. February 2027 | Trade Fair for Rescue and Civil Protection
BOS:EXPO is a new trade fair dedicated to emergency services, civil protection and the organisations and authorities responsible for public safety and emergency response. It serves as a central platform for innovation, knowledge exchange and professional networking across the emergency management, rescue and public safety sectors.
The acronym BOS:EXPO derives from the German term Behörden und Organisationen mit Sicherheitsaufgaben (“Authorities and Organisations with Public Safety Responsibilities”) and encompasses all key stakeholders, including fire and rescue services, emergency medical services (EMS), the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), water and mountain rescue organisations, emergency control centres, as well as civil protection and disaster management agencies. As a trade exhibition, knowledge forum and industry meeting place, BOS brings together professional and volunteer responders, public-sector decision-makers, procurement specialists, research and development experts, and providers of innovative technologies.
BOS:EXPO takes place at Messe Augsburg, one of the most modern exhibition and convention venues in southern Germany. The event is organised by AFAG Messen und Ausstellungen GmbH, one of Germany’s leading private trade fair organisers. With decades of experience in planning and delivering successful trade and consumer exhibitions, AFAG is renowned for creating high-quality industry platforms that connect expertise, innovation and valuable business relationships.
The event focuses on the key future challenges and developments facing fire and rescue services, emergency medical services and disaster management organisations. Particular emphasis is placed on digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence to support operational personnel. Topics such as digital incident command, AI-powered situational awareness, intelligent decision-support systems, integrated control centres, and advanced communication and information systems demonstrate how technological innovation can enhance both safety and operational efficiency.
The exhibition also addresses the challenges of civil protection, crisis preparedness and cross-organisational cooperation during major incidents and large-scale emergencies.
Another key theme is the growing importance of climate resilience. As extreme weather events such as flooding, severe storms and wildfires become more frequent, the event showcases innovative concepts and solutions designed to help emergency organisations adapt their structures, capabilities and response strategies. The programme is further complemented by topics such as recruitment, workforce development, and education and training, all of which are essential to maintaining the long-term effectiveness of emergency services and humanitarian organisations.
Across the exhibition floor, companies and institutions present a broad range of products, services and technologies. These include emergency response vehicles and vehicle equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), firefighting and rescue technologies, technical rescue systems, medical technology and emergency care solutions. The exhibition also features communication and control-centre technologies, drones and unmanned systems, AI applications for operational response, security solutions for critical infrastructure, training and simulation concepts, and services provided by professional associations, public authorities and research institutions.
Exhibitors represent a wide range of sectors, including firefighting technology, vehicle manufacturing, medical technology, information technology, telecommunications, security and communications systems, drone technology, education and training, research, and public administration. Industry associations and humanitarian aid organisations further complement the exhibitor profile. Trade visitors primarily include representatives from fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, control centres, civil protection and disaster management organisations, the THW, local and national government authorities, as well as procurement and management professionals from public-sector organisations.
A distinctive feature of BOS:EXPO is the close integration of the trade exhibition with a practice-oriented conference programme. Current challenges, innovative solutions and proven best-practice examples are presented and discussed throughout the event. Specialist presentations, expert panels and live demonstrations encourage direct dialogue between practitioners, decision-makers, academia and industry.
Messe Augsburg provides the ideal setting for this format. Modern exhibition halls, extensive outdoor demonstration areas for vehicles and equipment, and excellent on-site infrastructure create optimal conditions for a successful event. Thanks to its direct access to the A8 motorway between Munich and Stuttgart, convenient rail connections via Augsburg Central Station, and proximity to Munich International Airport, the venue is easily accessible for both national and international visitors.
