SIFER Lille

SIFER – the "Salon International du Ferroviaire" – is France’s only international trade fair dedicated to railway and rail transport technology. Held every two years in Lille, it has developed into a key industry event since its launch in 1999. Organized by RX France (Reed Exhibitions Limited), an experienced and internationally active trade fair organizer, SIFER provides a specialized platform for professionals, operators, planners, and decision-makers from the public and private sectors.

Hosted at the centrally located Lille Grand Palais, in the heart of a thriving metropolitan region with excellent international transport links, the fair brings together numerous companies from France and abroad to showcase their latest technologies, products, and services. The event focuses on core sectors such as rail infrastructure and construction – including track systems, superstructure and substructure, as well as bridge and tunnel engineering – rolling stock technology featuring modern rail vehicles and innovative components, and signaling and safety systems, including forward-looking solutions like ETCS and cybersecurity.

Energy efficiency and electrification are also major themes. Exhibitors present sustainable power supply systems, battery and hydrogen technologies. Another key focus is digitalization, smart systems, and predictive maintenance – all contributing to cost reduction and increased operational efficiency in railway networks. Environmental considerations play a vital role as well, including CO₂ emission reduction, noise protection, eco-friendly materials, and circular economy concepts.

A hallmark of SIFER is its comprehensive conference program, addressing the latest industry challenges and developments. This is complemented by a wide range of networking opportunities that foster exchange among leading experts and decision-makers. On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 3 days of the fair, from 26. March to 28. March 2019, about 443 exhibitors from 48 countries on the SIFER in Lille.
