The vocatium is a specialized event for career and academic orientation held annually at the Meistersingerhalle in Nuremberg. As part of a nationwide network, it specifically targets students in their final school years, university students, parents, and teachers. The name Vocatium is derived from the Latin word "vocatio", meaning "vocation" or "calling"—fitting for the fair's goal of supporting young people in their individual career choices.

The fair is organized by the IfT Institut für Talententwicklung (Institute for Talent Development), an experienced provider of educational consulting and talent promotion. Since its founding in 2008, Vocatium Nuremberg has established itself as a reliable resource for questions about training, studies, and further education—not just regionally, but as part of a Germany-wide network with over 80 locations.

What sets Vocatium apart are the pre-arranged one-on-one meetings between young attendees and exhibitors. This approach enables personalized consultations with companies, universities, vocational academies, and institutions from various fields, including technology, IT, social work, healthcare, business, and administration. The topics covered range from dual apprenticeships and degree programs to internships, studying abroad, application tips, career coaching, and professional development opportunities. Future-oriented career fields such as STEM (MINT in German) and social professions are also presented in a practical way.

Another highlight is the "speed dating" sessions with employers and educational institutions, where participants can quickly make valuable connections. This distinguishes Vocatium from traditional job fairs: it is tailored to young people's needs, fostering in-depth conversations rather than superficial information exchanges.

The venue, the Meistersingerhalle, adds a special atmosphere to the fair. Opened in 1963 and located in the Luitpoldhain district near the historic Nazi Party Rally Grounds, it is easily accessible by public transport.
