PraxisBörse Göttingen

The PraxisBörse is the central career fair of the University of Göttingen and a firmly established event in the academic calendar for all those looking to actively shape their professional future. Its name symbolizes its core mission: a platform for hands-on career opportunities, where companies and institutions present concrete professional prospects. Each year, the University’s North and Central Campuses transform into a hub for around 90 exhibitors and several thousand visitors from across Germany.

Organized by the University of Göttingen’s Research and Transfer Department, the fair builds a direct bridge between academia and industry. It not only provides information but also inspiration—by bringing academic diversity together with real-world career opportunities. Its interdisciplinary approach spans all fields: from the natural and life sciences to computer science and engineering, as well as the economic, social, and humanities disciplines.

Traditionally, the fair kicks off on the North Campus, in the Faculty of Physics at Friedrich-Hund-Platz 1. This location focuses on exhibitors from the natural sciences, technology, and IT sectors. On the second day, the event moves to the Central Campus at Platz der Göttinger Sieben 5, where companies and institutions from the fields of business, society, and social services take center stage. This change of venue creates a clear thematic structure and makes navigation easier.

A particular highlight is the joint stand of regional employers from Lower Saxony, located in the Central Lecture Hall Building. This feature underscores the fair’s strong ties to the regional economy and its contribution to securing skilled professionals in South Lower Saxony.

The event is further enriched by a comprehensive supporting program, including application coaching, CV checks, expert talks on career paths, and online sessions held in advance. Company excursions provide additional insight into workflows and corporate cultures.
