GEOLOGICA Bergisch Gladbach
| Exhibition of minerals and fossils | regional Fair
GEOLOGICA, organized by LuGeV – Landscape and History Association, is an annual mineral and fossil fair with strong regional appeal. It stands out for its unique combination of scientific depth, a passion for collecting, and engaging, hands-on experiences.
The event takes place at the County Hall (Kreishaus) in Bergisch Gladbach, which every autumn becomes the venue for this geoscientific highlight. It regularly attracts experts, collectors, and curious visitors from across the Bergisches Land and beyond.
What makes GEOLOGICA special is its clear thematic focus: the spotlight is on minerals, fossils, and geological exhibits that can be collected, traded, or purchased. The fair is more than just a marketplace for specialists – it’s also a place of discovery and learning for a broad audience, from schoolchildren and amateur geologists to seasoned collectors.
The exhibitors mainly come from the fields of geoscience, mineralogy, paleontology, and museum education. They present a wide range of offerings – from rare specimens and excavation finds to specialist literature, tools, and educational materials related to Earth history.
Organized in cooperation with the Cultural Office of the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, GEOLOGICA aims not only to provide commercial opportunities, but also to fulfill educational and cultural objectives. A varied lecture program on geoscientific topics enhances the fair experience and offers space for knowledge sharing and discussion.
Hands-on activities, such as gold panning, are especially popular and offer visitors of all ages a vivid, tangible encounter with Earth’s history. Another highlight is the “GeoTreff” – a relaxed meeting point where guests can exchange ideas over drinks and light refreshments.
GEOLOGICA sees itself as a regionally unifying event, placing the geological richness of the Bergisches Land front and center while making it accessible to a broad public.
With its central location, excellent transport connections, bright architecture, and spacious exhibition areas, the modern County Hall in Bergisch Gladbach provides the ideal setting for a fair that impressively combines science, the joy of collecting, and curiosity.
The GEOLOGICA takes place annually, and therefore for the 51st time previsibly in November 2026 in Bergisch Gladbach.
