The event is organized by Projektzentrum Szymkowiak, also known as JS Veranstaltungszentrum, which brings years of experience and personal dedication to creating an inspiring fair experience. The venue is the historic Dresden-Seidnitz Racecourse – a site known well beyond the city limits for its architectural charm and cultural significance. The market is held at irregular intervals and attracts visitors from the entire region and beyond.

At its core, the fair focuses on handmade products and high-quality materials for creative projects. A special highlight is the “StoWoMa” area – short for “Stoffe, Wolle & Material” (Fabrics, Wool & Materials) – which appeals to anyone passionate about sewing, knitting, or crafting. The wide range of offerings also includes handmade jewelry, unique ceramics, fragrant soaps, fashionable bags, and lovingly crafted children's and baby clothing. Additionally, a large variety of fabrics, yarns, buttons, paper goods, and accessories for scrapbooking and hand lettering can be found. In this way, the market brings together different creative fields while encouraging interaction between exhibitors and visitors.

A key feature of the event is its strong connection to the regional creative community. At the same time, the KreativMarkt is part of a nationwide event series held at various locations across Germany.
