Established in 2001 by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Kino - Gilde deutscher Filmkunsttheater e.V., the Leipzig Film Art Fair (Filmkunstmesse) has proven itself as an annual professional and public fair in the European film landscape. Over five days in September, it provides cinema operators, film distributors, and industry experts a platform for intensive exchange and attracts both professionals and film enthusiasts..

The fair is held at several impressive locations in Leipzig, including the Salles de Pologne, the Zeitgeschichtliches Forum, the Felsenkeller, and the Alte Handelsbörse.
